The National Tobacco Administration (NTA) headed by Administrator and CEO Belinda S. Sanchez expressed its full – support to the Anti-Red Tape Authority’s (ARTA) observance of Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Month this May.
In her message read by Deputy Administrator for Operations (DAOP) Nestor C. Casela during the regular flag-raising ceremony on Monday, May 5, Administrator Sanchez reiterated the vital role of every NTA employee in extending efficient service to all agency clients as embodied in the Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
On March 3, 2025, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. issued Proclamation No. 818, directing the ARTA to lead the annual observance of EODB Month upon his declaration of May of every year as EODB Month. The celebration aims to promote the government’s campaign to strengthen the delivery of key government services, create a more business-friendly environment, and improve bureaucratic efficiency.
“The entire workforce and frontliners of the NTA will support this month-long series of engagements and advocacy that promote citizen-focused, transparent, and excellent service delivery to our clients especially to our tobacco farmers and stakeholders,” she said.
The NTA has lined up several activities for the month-long observance, which align with this year’s celebration theme: “From Red Tape to Red Carpet: Better Business Movement in a Bagong Pilipinas.”
Among these activities include the display of the official EODB celebration banner on the official social and online media pages, and conspicuous places of the agency, discussion of the significance of the EODB observance during the flag-raising ceremony on Monday, May 5, and the conduct of inspection on ARTA compliance of the different units of the agency and among others.
